Jesus and Santa (Post 4)

Let's take a look at some comparisons between Santa Claus and Jesus, Our Savior.

But first, where did Santa even come from...
So Santa started off as Bishop St. Nicholas, then the story slowly changes along the way. All around the world he is known by many names, Father Christmas, Kris Kringle (meaning Christ Child), Old Nick (English name for the Devil), Papa Noel (Father Christmas; Noelis derived from the Latin natalis, meaning “birth”), Grandfather Frost, Sinterklaas, Santa etc. I'll go deeper into this on another post, my focus is the comparison between the two here.

NOTE A little interesting history from the Dutch settlers, Sinterklaas is an elderly, majestic and serious man with white hair and a long, full beard. He wears a long red cape or chasuble over a traditional white bishop's alb and sometimes red stola, he wears a red mitre and ruby ring, and holds a gold-colored crosier, a long ceremonial shepherd's staff. He traditionally rides a white horse. Sinterklaas carries a big, red book, called The Book of Sinterklaas, in which is written whether each child has been good or naughty in the past year. And this is where you get 'Santa Claus' it's from 'Sinterklass'.

Remember that satan is a master of disguise. He can make it appear good, pleasant, and seemingly so innocent and yet so deadly! The Bible tell us in 2 Corinthians 11:14, "And no marvel; for satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" He does not appear with horns and a pitch fork breathing fire. He just might appear as a sweet lil old man with rosy cheeks!

It's easy to see that Santa Claus is a counterfeit! The word Santa is just an anagram of satan!

The dangers of fooling your children into believing in Santa and then telling them the truth later, is you are breaking their trust. There is a chance they may start to question in their heart if Jesus is even real as well!

Let's just list 26 comparisons between Jesus and Santa aka satan, it's nothing more then a deception and a mockery of our Savior! Take a look….

2. JESUS Has a beard. (Isaiah 50:6) SANTA Has a beard.

3. JESUS Has eyes like flames of fire. (Rev 1:14; 2:18) SANTA Has a twinkle in his eye.

4. JESUS Comes in red apparel. (Isaiah 63:1-2/ Rev 19:13) SANTA Comes in red apparel.

5. JESUS Hour of His coming is a mystery. (Luke 12:40/Mark 13:33) SANTA Hour of his coming is a mystery.

6. JESUS Comes from the North where He lives. (Ezekiel 1:4/Psalm 48:2) SANTA Comes from the North where he lives at the North Pole.

7. JESUS Is a carpenter. (Mark 6:3) SANTA Is a toy carpenter.

8. JESUS Comes as a thief in the night. (Matthew 24:43-44) SANTA Comes as a thief in the night, even gains entrances to your home as a thief.

9. JESUS Omnipotent- all powerful. (Rev 19:6) SANTA Omnipotent- can deliver all the toys of the world in one night.

10. JESUS Omniscient- knows all. (Hebrews 4:13/ 1John 3:20) SANTA Omniscient- knows if you have been good or bad, all year long.

11. JESUS Omnipresent- (Psalm 139:7-10/Eph 4:6/John 3:13) SANTA Omnipresent- sees when you are awake or sleep.

12. JESUS Ageless & Eternal. (Rev 1:8; 21:6) SANTA Lives forever.

17. JESUS We go boldly to the throne of Grace for our needs. (Heb 4:16) SANTA Children are bidden to his throne to ask for anything they want.

19. JESUS Wants little children to come to Him. (Mark 10:14) SANTA Bids children to come unto him.

25. JESUS God says "Ho Ho.." (Zech 2:6) SANTA says "Ho, ho, ho.."

26. JESUS Prince of Peace, the Image of God. (Isa 9:6/ Heb 1:3) SANTA Symbol of World Peace, the image of the Christmas Season.

SANTA CLAUS AKA 'SATAN' Is a COUNTERFEIT "For thou hast said, … I will be like the the most High" (Isaiah 14:13-14)
