Japan Vaccine Rate
Japan has always been cautious with vaccines. They even banned the HPV vaccine at one point, because of so many adverse reaction in the girls. But due to the pressure of WHO and others they dropped the ban. The same is happening once again. Japan has only vaccinated 2% of it's population so far, so the pressure it on. With intensified threats of canceling the Summer Olympics.
Just today, "Japanese regulators recommended the approval of COVID-19 vaccines developed by Moderna Inc MRNA.O and AstraZeneca PLC's AZN.L on Thursday, paving the way for the country to speed up its slow-moving vaccination campaign."
The Japanese are also cautious when it comes to donating blood. They have a mandatory pre-questionnaire and certified physician conduct a preliminary medical examination before blood donation. And you must be able to speak Japanese as well.
Japan was putting blood donations from Covid vaccinated people on hold, due to concerns, which drew negative attention. So this is what the Japanese Red Cross Society has stated now…
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your understanding and cooperation in donating blood.
We are pleased to announce that the criteria for receiving blood donations for those vaccinated against covid-19 have been decided as follows."
"Blood donation is not possible for 48 hours after RNA vaccination including mRNA vaccine."
"*Currently, the mRNA vaccine approved in Japan is manufactured by Pfizer. You can cooperate with blood donation after the above period for both the first and second inoculations. In addition, since the standards for accepting vaccines other than the novel coronavirus RNA vaccine are being continuously examined by the government, blood donations will be refrained from until the standards are indicated. Once the standards have been decided, we will inform you on the website, etc., so please understand.
"We look forward to your continued support in the future." -Japanese Red Cross Society April 28, 2021 Link in the comments.
Just something for you to consider.
