Just a Quick Word
Dear Christian Friend that wants their precious children to partake in Halloween. I write this to you from the heart…
Being a mother of 5, with my oldest being 28 years old, I have been through many Halloweens. I have gone through it all, from taking my children out trick or treating, then saying no, not this year but through guilt take them anyways, to passing out candy with tracts, going to Harvest Festivals and Hallelujah Nights, so that it felt and appeared 'Christian'. So I feel that I am able to speak on this.
Yes, we as parents want our children to be 'happy' and have 'fun' and not feel 'left out'. But at what cost? Would it not be of greater value to teach our children to take a stand, to stand up for righteousness!? It is one of the most important, if not THE most important lessons in life we can teach our precious children.
Now, for the past 12 years at least, I finally am doing that! And my children are proud to know the truth and to stand up for what is right. They want nothing to do with this day. To be honest, children keep things simple, it's adults that complicate things.
In my opinion, allowing our children to partake in Halloween so that they don't feel 'left out' is teaching them to just go along with the crowd. It's a lot bigger then just allowing our children to have 'fun' on this one day. I don't need to even speak of the evils (past and present) of this day do I!
I understand that you may not think it's a big deal. However, as our world grows darker by the day, if you are truly a 'Christian' you really need to be preparing your children for spiritual warfare.
Remember we are not to conform to this world. Be strong and stand for The Father and His Righteousness. As believers we are to encourage one another and that is my goal here, so I hope you receive it in love and not judgement since many are so easily offended today. May the Father bless you! Much love.
