The Great City

'The Women is a Great City.'

Revelation 17:18 ...'And the woman which thou sawest is that great CITY, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.'

Now many people look at this verse and proclaim since "Babylon is a CITY" it must be 'NEW YORK' CITY, and they totally disregard all the other characteristics of Babylon, which show that the Whore of Babylon cannot just be a literal city like New York. We need to take ALL the identification markers together, including this city one, then it's easy to see who it is instead of guessing.

We know so far that the women or 'Whore' is a religious system as well as a city. So how can we bring this church and city together? Well, what is the one city which is also a church that "reigns" over the nations of the world? This is none other then "VATICAN CITY!"

The papacy is so influential and powerful that nearly every major country consults her before making major policy moves.

What about the etymology of the word Vatican. The word Vatican is shortened from Vaticanus. In Latin 'Vatic' means prophesy, prophet, or rave, talk wildly. And 'anus' means ring, old woman or hag. So together we have 'The old women of Prophesy'. Vatican City has been called the 'City of Prophecy'.

The Vatican City (WHORE) is satan's city. It's a counterfeit of the true Holy City that is to come...

"And I John saw the Holy CITY, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a BRIDE adorned for her husband." Revelation 21:2
