She held in her hand a Golden Cup

".... She held in her hand a GOLDEN CUP full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality." Rev 17:4

Once again, a very obvious identifying mark with Rome. Over time, the official church regulations dictated the construction, blessing, and treatment of Chalices. Some religious traditions still require that the Chalice, at least on the inside of the cup, be gold-plated. However the Papal Chalice is pure GOLD even to this day, i.e. 'The Golden Cup'.

The Roman Catholic Church possesses thousands of solid Gold Chalices in its churches all around the world. Also the 'Chalice' occupies the first place among sacred vessels in the Church.

But what about the abominations part of the verse, “full of abominations…” Indeed, Rome is filled with abominations. Her mass, which she claims is a bloodless re-sacrifice of Christ, is an abomination. Her sacramental salvation, her worship of Mary, her prayers to dead saints, her doctrine of purgatory, her love affair with the bones of dead men, her unscriptural claims and Pope, all are abominations before The Almighty!

Do you see the mockery here of 'The Cup'! She holds this Golden Cup so proudly yet…

”The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:” Revelation 14:10

A day is coming, and she will FALL! ...”Then a second angel followed, saying, "Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who has made all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her immorality." Rev 14:8
