Blasphemous Portrait ‘The Holy Cross’

Here is a portrait of Pope Francis titled... 'The Holy Cross'.

The symbolism here is very clear. Even the artist himself states, "It's a story of the Pope told through symbols".

It's interesting to note that this Portrait was quietly unveiled on September 23rd, 2015, during the Pope's historic trip to America!!! Where he spoke to Congress, attended a multi-religious service at the One World Trade Center, and spoke at the UN, stating that he came 'in his own name'. It was also the United Nations 70th anniversary. And I've shared about the significant of September 23rd before.

Pope Francis said, " This work is inspired, it touches my heart."

Here is an excerpt from an article from the National Review on this portrait, from October 2017...

"The Essence of Pope Francis, Caught in a Master’s Portrait"

Somehow a touching episode in the pope’s visit to the United States went unreported in the mainstream media.

On his last day in Washington, Pope Francis hosted world-famous portraitist Igor Babailov for the unveiling of his latest portrait — of Pope Francis himself. As the veil was pulled aside, Pope Francis clutched his chest and said, “I am so touched.” He studied the portrait side to side and up and down. Then he repeated, “So touched. So touched.”

“The little children,” he said, pointing to a miniature of himself with children in the right foreground. Then he drew back, put his hands on the white cassock of his chest, and asked Babailov to comment on the rich details of his composition. The pope had seen the simple sketches of himself that Babailov had made during their earlier sittings in Rome, but he was not prepared for the elaborate symbolism that surrounded the finished grand oil portrait.

Babailov has done portraits of more than a hundred famous world figures, including presidents and royal personages of many nations, as well as the pope’s predecessors Benedict XVI and John Paul II. This portrait, an official memento of the pope’s quietly emotional tour of the United States in 2015, will also join the long rows of portraits in the Vatican collection of popes down the centuries. Bavailov’s conception of the portraitist’s task is to capture more than a photograph — to bring out the inner soul and personal passions of his subjects.

This is what the Artist, Igor Babailov had to say…

“My painting of Pope Francis which I called 'The Holy Cross,' is more than a portrait in the traditional sense," Babailov says. "It is a story of the Pope told through SYMBOLS with the Pontiff’s figure in the center. It tells of His Holiness’ mission of love, faith and devotion to help the needy and bring people of the world TOGETHER."

Now, the Symbolism in the photo is representing 'The Holy Cross' for Catholics, they cross themselves with the sign of the holy cross stating the Trinity...The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit with three fingers. And as we can see, we have Baby Jesus= 'The Son', The Dove= 'The Holy Spirit' and Pope Francis= as 'The Father' to complete the three. Also take a look at Pope Francis' hands. This is a Jesuit pose, for the 'Sacred Heart of Jesus' so they claim. Remember Francis is the 1st Jesuit Pope.

This is such a blasphemous portrait. And Pope Francis praises and and claims the position of The Heavenly Father. Because the Pope also holds the title, Vicar of Christ, meaning, an earthly substitute for Jesus.

Also in the bottom half of the painting we have...

The Pope washing someone's feet. We all know Jesus washing the disciples' feet. John 13:1-17

Then we have the Pope with the children. "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 19:14

If you don't think the Pope, who is called 'The Holy Father' and 'His Holiness' wants to take the place of The True Holy Father in Heaven. Then you tell me why the Pope sits between the Cherubim on a White Thrown in his temple, just as our Father in Heaven does!!!

*O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth. Isaiah 37:16

*And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Revelation 20:11-15

*And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Matthew 23:9

Something for you to ponder on. Keep watch!
